Hamister Group, LLC Acquires Hotel, Will Convert It To Assisted Living Facility

PITTSBURGH, Pa. --Hamister Group, LLC, through an affiliate, has acquired a former La Quinta Inn & Suites in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and will convert it into a seven-story senior housing community.
Dubbed Northland Heights, LLC, this approximately 85,000-square-foot property will offer 92 assisted living suites, 19 memory care units, and nine independent living apartments.
"This is an exciting opportunity for us to expand in the Pittsburgh market and bring an exceptional level of care to the residents of Ross Township and beyond," Hamister Group Chairman and CEO Mark E. Hamister said. "We will leverage our 39 years of senior care experience and industry leadership and make Northland Heights, LLC a senior living destination."
Hamister Group, LLC, a national healthcare and hospitality management organization, also operates a Holiday Inn Express in Cranberry, Pennsylvania.
Construction on Northland Heights, LLC, located off McKnight Road near St. Sebastian Parish, will start in Spring 2017. Proposed plans include:
- Combining rooms on the top floor for more spacious independent living apartments.
- Reconfiguring the first floor to be amenity rich, including a dining area, salon, café and activity space.
- Renovating all finishes and upgrading mechanical systems for life, safety and energy efficiency.
Hamister Group, LLC is located in Buffalo, New York. Its East Coast portfolio includes management of four senior housing communities, a home healthcare agency, eight hotels and two hotels currently under construction.
