30th Anniversary Management Symposium: An Affirmation of Hamister Commitment to Professional Development
The Hamister Group 30th Anniversary Management Symposium was a significant educational achievement. The Symposium began on Wednesday May 30th with the first part of Ed Iannarella’s course in “Core Selling Skills.” Mr. Iannarella, the preferred sales trainer of Marriott and Hilton, delivered a two-day seminar on the psychology of sales, emotional connection with customers, and practical sales techniques. His inspirational anecdotes and comic talent created a fun and positive atmosphere, while his cognitive insights challenged participants to analyze the sales process in new ways.
On Friday well-known author Harry Chambers conducted a one-day seminar on recruiting and maintaining top performers. He discussed referral sources, interview process improvements, and the retention of outstanding people through educational programs. Mr. Chambers’ ideas on the achievement of company loyalty through learning were particularly relevant, since The Hamister Group has recently re-affirmed its commitment to the professional development of its co-workers.
The conference culminated with a banquet on June 1st, Hamister’s 30th Anniversary. New York State Senator Mary Lou Rath and Erie County Executive Joel Giambra read State and County declarations in honor of the company’s history. CEO and Chairman Mark Hamister distributed the company’s 2006 Excellence Awards to businesses that had achieved superior results in customer service, financial performance, and team work. Attendees enjoyed live music and dancing until midnight.
